Hat Chat

As the blustery winter approaches, ladies, we should all take note that hair being blown in our faces is not the best thing for freshly glossed lips and in-the-process-of-drying mascara.  And frankly, showing up to that holiday party with a rat's nest on your head, is NOT considered sexy.  The best solution for this is simple–a stylish hat.  You may think that hats have been passè since the idea of carrying hairstyling accoutrements in purses became a fad.  But ladies, ladies, ladies hats NEVER go out of style.  Every woman ought to have at least one, elegant hat in their arsenal for when the occasion calls for it.  Some of you may say, what if I just don't look good in a hats?  Trust me.  There is a hat out there for every woman.  There are hundreds of styles to choose from.  Yet, if you still do not find a hat that suits you, my suggestion is to stick to the cloche hats.  Think circa 1920s.  Cloche hats are elegant and simple and they all pretty much look the same on everyone–absolutely stunning.  And if you are the daring kind of dollface, wearing men's hats has never been a fashion crime. Hats go with just about everything.  Just don't try to mix patterned hats with patterned clothes.  The result is not a pretty one.  Since it is getting cold out, you may want to stick to hats that are velvet or felt.  With regards to choosing the perfect colored hat, I would stick to the rule that spring/summer hats should be pastel and light, whilst fall/winter hats should be of darker tones.  But as Coco Chanel put it, "The best color in the whole world, is the one that looks good, on you!"  So really, anything goes!
